The Girls Gone Green, Whole Foods Market and Global Greenup are hosting the Earth Day Fair 2010, an event unlike any other Earth Day celebration that Jacksonville has ever seen! People are invited to join us throughout the day on Wednesday, April 21st from 10am to 9pm at Whole Foods Market on San Jose Blvd. for an exciting day of reducing, reusing and recycling.
Conex Recycling, Teacher Supply Depot, Recycling E-Scrap will be on-hand collecting paper, plastic, glass, unused furniture, office items, and discarded electronics all to be recycled or reused. Participants are also encouraged to bring clothes, hats, board games, toys and more to swap out in our Kids Clothing and Toy Swap. Parents and kids can exchange those toys they just do use anymore for something “new.” All extra clothes will be donated to City Rescue Mission. We will also have several other green business vendors and non-profits. It is FREE to set up as a vendor at the event. If you are interested in becoming a vendor, please contact Martin at info@globalgreenup.com
Whole Foods Market will donate FIVE PERCENT of the day’s net sales to The Girls Gone Green, a local 501c(3) non-profit devoted to raising awareness about our planet’s plight by producing news segments, appearing on radio shows and hosting festivals and conventions along with various outreach programs. The Girls Gone Green is excited to partner with Whole Foods Market and Global Greenup to put on such a unique event.

Every year nearly 130 MILLION cell phones are thrown away in the United States alone.
That’s a lot of useless equipment… Well, almost useless. The millions of unused cell phones wasting away in landfills are only considered useless because we decided to throw them out.
Did you know that cell phones are recyclable?
Yep, instead of tossing out your 1st generation iPhone when you get a new one, donate it! Not only will you be helping others in need, you’ll also be saving the planet from harmful toxins and pollutants (See it for yourself). Here are a few ways to put your old phone to use!
